Why You Should Pick Fishing The reasons for this is really quite simple.
The fishing profession is both easy to master and quick to level up, and there are of course a lot of gold that you can make by doing this.
And unlike most of the other professions in World of Warcraft, fishing is 99% Free, you just need to buy a rod for around 2 silver in order to start fishing.
And another great thing about fishing is that it's a "pair-profession", which means that you can pair it up with another profession in order to make more gold, the pair-profession of fishing is of course Cooking.
There is however a bad thing about the cooking profession, it doesn't yield that much gold during the lower levels, but it does make up to it once you hit around 300.
Once you reach this level you'll be able to make food that gives people higher stats if they eat it, there's food for mana, strength, agility, intellect, and basically everything people need in order to improve their character.
The Best Reason For Picking Fishing My favorite part about fishing is that it's not even remotely competitive, if you find a fishing-school you can almost always be sure that you'll be the only one there, and therefore you won't have to deal with other people stealing your fish, so your overall profits will be higher! I'm not quite sure why, but people just seem to have a genuine dislike of the fishing profession, and yet, most of them haven't even tried it.
So if you're looking for a nice way of making gold in Cataclysm, I recommend fishing.
