    What are the Electrical Requirements of this Air Conditioner?

    • The GE APE80AK comes with a 3-prong plug that only fits into a 3-prong outlet. GE encourages you to insert the plug directly into the outlet. If you need to use an extension cord, you must use a 3-wire, 14-gauge, grounded extension cord rated at 125 Volts and 15 amps, and it must be listed with the Underwriters Laboratory (UL).You must also use either a 15-amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse.

    How Long is the Warranty?

    • You receive a one-year warranty with this air conditioner, and this warranty covers labor and materials. If you encounter a problem, you can exchange the unit, and the replacement unit is covered for the time remaining on your original warranty. You may also receive a refund. This warranty does not cover repair costs or service trips.

    How Do You Maintain Your GE APE80AK Air Conditioner?

    • Always properly maintain your GE APE80AK portable air conditioner. Properly clean the outer casing using water and soap, and clean the grill with either a brush or a vacuum. Use a brush to clean the coil, and clean your air filter using soap and water every 30 days.

    What are the Clearance and Operating Temperature Requirements?

    • You need at least 12 inches of clearance on every side of the air conditioner. This allows the air to properly circulate. Only operate the air conditioner where the temperature does not go below 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Frost may cover your coils if the unit is placed in colder areas.
