- 1). Haul the boat out of the water and leave it on the trailer. Let the pontoons dry.
- 2). Scrape off the large chunks of the crust with a scraper. Fill a bucket with warm water and dish soap, dip a scrub brush in the solution and scrub down the pontoons. Rinse off the soap with the garden hose.
- 3). Empty the bucket and fill it with cool water and the aluminum cleaner. Scrub down the pontoons with a sponge dipped in the solution. Hose down the pontoons with the garden hose. Let the pontoons dry.
- 4). Inspect the pontoons, scraping and scrubbing any remaining crust or grime. Hose down afterward and allow it to dry.
