    Body and Head

    • The body and head of a beaded spider is made with as few as two beads or as many as you wish. For a two-beaded body and head, two different sizes of beads are used. The larger of the two beads makes the body and the smaller of the two beads makes the head. Alternatively, numerous seed beads can be strung together and formed to make the body and head.

    Legs

    • If you aren’t an avid jewelry maker, you may gravitate toward a craft spider that has bare legs. Spiders of this sort are made by extending bare wires from the space between the body bead and head bead. Of course, the bare wires can be beaded if you prefer. String seed beads, bugle beads or a combination of both beads to make legs that coordinate with the body and head beads.

    Jewelry

    • Beaded spiders can be worn as unique jewelry. For a spider to be worn as a pendant, use a 12-mm body bead and a 8-mm head bead. Earrings can be made using slightly smaller beads, such as an 8-mm body bead and a 6-mm head bead. Hang the spider as a charm from a bracelet. Attach the spider to a bobby pin or the center of a hair bow for a hair accessory.

    Decoration

    • Halloween isn’t the only time spiders are used as decorations. Christmas spiders can be made using crystal or pearl beads to make an ornament. Make a spider magnet for use during any season by attaching a magnet to the underside of the spider. Capture rays of sunshine during the summer with a spider web sun catcher made of colorful or clear glass beads. Attach a beaded spider to the beaded web and hang in a window.
