Usually, when you see a good mail in your Aliencamel pending email advisory, it is marked for download and whitelisting. Processing this action not only places the message in question in your Inbox, it also places the sender of the good mail on your white list of known senders of valid messages.

Usually, this makes sense, as the sender will continue to send good mail and good mail only.

Why Receive Without Whitelisting?

Sometimes, the unusual occurs, however, and you get a good message you do want to receive from a sender you do not want to whitelist.

Why could that be? The sender could be you, for example. Spammers sometimes use your email address in the From: line of their unsolicited messages. Having yourself on the white list could allow such spam through. (Aliencamel automatically prevents your addresses from being put on the whitelist.)

The message could also come from a mailer-daemon or mailing list software. One message acknowledging a command or message you sent is fine, but hundreds of delivery failures generated by a virus or a spammer using your address are better not downloaded automatically.

You see, there are reasons to accept a message in Aliencamel without broadly accepting the sender, and there are ways to do it.

To receive an email without whitelisting the sender in Aliencamel:

• In the Pending Email Advisory, select the Download (a blue arrow pointing down, but no green plus bullet) icon for the message.
• Click Process.
