Tunisia Egypt… All Nations of the World are Winning the Future Capturing the Sputnik Moment
In this fourth article in this series on Winning the Future Capturing the Sputnik Moment we note how the creation of the United States of America through the American Revolution marked an enormous point in the entire history of the human race as we see events turning up in Egypt in particular.
The American life from the very beginning has always been a screen on which the rest of the world's nations could project their visions of their perfect future on. In general all the world's nations are divided and restless within themselves. In Europe democracy has not deepened enough to allow people the freedom, the kind of freedom experienced in America. In Europe there are still echoes of established heredity and royalist tendencies and leanings. The idea of America is the American dream of personal merit with no base on heredity. This was better described by President Obama in the State of the Union Address:
"That dream is why I [a son of a Black man from Africa] can stand here before you tonight [as president of the United States of America]. That dream is why a working class kid from Scranton can stand behind me. That dream is why someone who began by sweeping the floors of his father's Cincinnati bar can preside as Speaker of the House in the greatest nation on Earth.
That dream - that American Dream - is what drove the Allen Brothers to reinvent their roofing company for a new era. It's what drove those students at Forsyth Tech to learn a new skill and work towards the future. And that dream is the story of a small business owner named Brandon Fisher".
And so the whole world from Europe to India to Africa, America is being considered (sometimes in unrealistic terms) as the golden nation of freedom for the pursuit happiness.
In most people of the nations within their respective countries there is a kind of spiritual emigration to the United States of America - the feverish yearning to flee to a better land where solid merit is recognized. And because now emigration to the United States is getting increasingly difficult people have at least settled on establishing American life in their own nations.
What you see the uprisings and revolt happening in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen and other nations coming is frustrations across the world that now translates into people seeking to establish American way of life and freedom in their own countries. We see the exact opposite of American way of life – the Arab nations now cracking – ordinary people rising up demanding more freedom or simply put American way of government.
