As students enter the seventh grade, students begin to lose interest in math or fall behind because the concepts are no longer as straightforward as simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. So, it is important to continue to make math both fun and understandable. There are several fun math games available online for seventh graders, which can keep them both engaged and informed.

    Thinking Blocks Addition/Subtraction

    • Thinking Blocks is an interactive math game developed to help students learn how to solve word problems with multiple steps. The game requires students to use models to solve word problems so they are able to picture the solution. You can use this game to practice various types of word problems such as determining the whole when parts of the whole are given, word problems comparing two or three amounts and word problems where the values change. In addition, you can use this word problem modeling game to do independent practice. This is an excellent game to get seventh graders comfortable with understanding how to break down a word problem and ultimately solve it.

    Math Millionaire

    • The Math Millionaire game is based on the popular game show, "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" The game is setup the same way the game show is. You start answering easier questions winning a small amount of money. As the game progresses, the questions get progressively harder and the payout higher. Questions include topics on fractions, percentages, averages, decimals and other math concepts. The game gives the player both word and computation problems.

    Algebra Puzzle

    • The Algebra Puzzle game provides great practice for seventh graders to learn basic concepts of algebra. In this game, you find the value of three objects in the algebra puzzle. The values you provide represent the solution to puzzles in all the rows and columns of a grid. The trick to this game is to find three numbers that will solve all six or seven equations in the grid.

    Algebraic Reasoning

    • In the Algebraic Reasoning game students practice using their reasoning skills by finding missing values in an equation. The object of the game is to determine the weight of one or more objects in the game by solving an equation from the information given. The problems in the game require multiple steps to solve the problems. This game helps seventh graders learn to solve multi-step algebra problems and find missing values in algebraic equations.

    Triplets Equivalent Fractions

    • The Triplets game helps students practice finding or computing equivalent fractions. The object of the game is to identify a set of three fractions that are all equivalent in nature. One of the items will be a pictorial representation of a fraction. In the game, there are five sets of equivalent fractions you must sort. In addition, the game has eight levels and gets more difficult as you progress through the levels.
