- 1). Wash the car with soap and water. Use a sponge to remove loose dirt and debris.
- 2). Dry the car with a lint-free towel.
- 3). Place the detailing clay against the surface of the car's paint where the specks are. Rub the detailing clay over the specks that you want to remove. The clay will work to pull the specks out of the clear coat of the paint. This may take 2 minutes or 10 minutes, depending on how bad your car's paint is.
