You have a Facebook page and you're ready to use it to bring in traffic, increase engagement, and generate leads and sales.
Did you know that 90% of people, once they "like" your Facebook page, rarely come back? That means that your job is to content that is not only rich and engaging, but also shows up in your followers' News Feed (you know, the first thing you see when you open your Facebook.
) I'm not going to make you read all the way to the end to get the juicy insider tip.
Here it is: It's All About the Content, Baby! Remember this - Instead of jumping in and posting randomly, take the time to strategically plan your Facebook page posts so it's interactive and interesting for your readers.
To help you along, here are 5 Facebook tips and techniques that will boost your business: 1.
Believe it or not, less is better.
Don't post too often on your page.
No more than a few times a day.
Too much annoys your followers and they are much more likely to unfollow you.
Also you want to keep your posts to around 4 sentences or less.
Short sentences - not those super long run-on things that we often do that are very long and lose their focus because you can't remember where it starts and where it ends and oh my gosh there is no end to this sentence.
(see what I mean?!) Too long and again, you lose attention.
So write it well and make it short, sweet and punchy.
2.
Target your content: Take a good look at the type of content that you're sharing on your Facebook page.
Is it just a bunch of links to your site? Or is it interesting, engaging and relevant? And are you thinking of your strategy (Who you are talking to and What you offer to them)? While photos are great and have the highest interaction rate, there are other status updates that you can mix in to elicit responses and boost interaction including:
  • Fill-in-the-blank style updates like "When I get writer's block, I break through it by _____________.
    "
  • Questions: Like "If you had a writer at your disposal for one whole day, what tasks would you assign them for your business?"
  • Everyone loves quotations, right? Give 'em something uplifting or inspiring.
But don't overdo it, I like them once in awhile, not every day.
3.
Make your posts "heavier," which helps add to their importance.
(This is according to Facebook's algorithim used to determine where you land in other people's news feed).
You ca do this by adding in photos and videos and encouraging more comments and interaction.
One other tip that helps is to be sure to do much of your posting manually, instead of using third-party apps to do the work for you.
4.
Include a Call to Action: We all know the importance of the "call to action.
" We use it in our sales letters, blog posts and product pitches, so why not in your Facebook update? Asking fans to like or comment on a status update is an easy and effective way of boosting interaction and showing customers that you value their approval and responses.
Try it, you'll be surprised.
Again, not every single time, save it for the really good stuff.
5.
Respond and Interact: Finally, make sure that when your fans do respond, comment and like what you have to say, you acknowledge it.
A simple thank you shows that you care, so make sure you say it.
And when someone has a question about your product or services, answer it.
If someone complains, resolve it.
Every interaction in social media is an opportunity to create dialog with both current and future clients, customers and fans.
Share your message, share your value and show that you are committed to serving your target audience in the most authentic way possible.
By doing this, you will create trust and trust can quickly turn to the loyal customer, which will in turn boost your business and your bottom line.
