Individual Halloween Games for Parties
- Word games, such as crossword puzzles, word searches and unscramble the word, are all games that your guests can play while waiting for the party to begin. You can also time these games and give out prizes to the guests who get the most questions answered correctly. Use a timer to keep track of how much time goes by. For example, tell your guests that you are giving them ten minutes to locate as many words in the Halloween word search as they can. Then set the timer for ten minutes. Place the timer in the center of the group so that they are constantly aware of the time ticking away.
- Place a bunch of words into a witches cauldron or hat. These words should say things that relate to Halloween, such as ghosts, cemetary, candy corn, Dracula, jack-o-lantern, Frankenstein, black cat, trick-or-treat and skeleton. Have each guest draw from the words one at a time and only when it is their turn. Then have them create a spontaneous scary story with the word they draw from the hat. Time each person, giving them two or three minutes each. After everyone has had a turn, hand out slips of paper to each person. Have them choose one story (not their own) that they thought was the scariest. Give a prize to the person who recieved the most votes.
- Give each guest a pumpkin and the tools needed to carve it. Tell them to create whatever design they want on their pumpkin. Only allow thirty minutes to clean and carve the pumpkins. Then place all of the pumpkins on a large display table. Have each guest vote on the pumpkin of their choice (not their own), and place the votes into a large bowl. Count the votes, and give the first and second place winners prizes.
