- 1). Choose a photo that you would like to have as your AIM icon. Use software such as Photoshop or HP Photoshop to resize the photo. The photo must be 48 x 48 pixels to be uploaded and used with AIM.
- 2). Open up your instant messenger and sign in with your user name and password.
- 3). Select "Edit" from the menu at the top of the AIM window. Choose the "Settings" from the drop-down box.
- 4). Select "Expression" from the window you have just opened. Click "Browse" to the right of "My Expressions" to open a new box.
- 5). Find the folder where you have the resized photo and click it. When you see the "Open" box, select the picture and select "Enter." The photo link will be inserted into the link box on the AIM window pop-up box. Click "Insert Photo" to allow the photo to be loaded to your user name.
