Make an ellipse 82 wide by 26 high for the foot of the glass. Select both pieces and align the centers horizontally in the Align palette. Select only the ellipse, and send it to the back of the stem (Object > Arrange > Send to Back). Object > Group (cmd/ctrl + G) to keep the pieces together.
