- 1). Download and install the latest version of iTunes from Apple.
- 2). Launch iTunes and connect the iPod to your computer with the included USB cable.
- 3). Select your iPod from iTune's sidebar. Click the "Summary" tab.
- 4). Click "Restore" and confirm the action. iTunes will begin downloading the latest version of the iPod firmware and apply it to the iPod. A progress bar will display on screen and on the iPod as it is being restored.
- 5). Set up the iPod in iTunes. Once the restore completes, the iPod will reappear in iTune's sidebar as a brand new iPod. Name the iPod and sync your media.
