• Three-year-olds live in a world in which they have very little control.They might pick out their own clothes and voice their opinions about dinner, but the big issues are left up to the parents. Next time the weather prohibits outdoor play, head to the store and let your little guy pick out his own crafts--be sure to limit him to ones in his age range. Crafts encourage him to be creative and develop fine motor skills. Other gifts that come in handy are passes for your favorite children's museum or children's gym. Keep in mind that three-year-olds often repeat activities so that they can learn from them, so don't be afraid to make repeat visits.
