How to Open a Broken iPod
- 1). Completely shut down the iPod by holding the "Play" button for 5 seconds. Once it turns off, slide the "Hold" button on so it does not turn on during this process. Put your iPod into the palm of your hand facing down.
- 2). Wedge your small screwdriver into the seam between the two parts of the iPod casing. Start at the corner of the device and wiggle the tool a little bit to pry the casing open.
- 3). Pull the cases apart from each other slowly and you will start to see some metallic parts on the inside if you are doing it correctly. There is wiring connecting the two cases together so do not rip the pieces apart. Once you have opened it enough you will be able to separate the wires from their connectors.
