Gather Resume
Before you start your search for the perfect work at home job, get yourself prepared. It is no different, (except for the staying home part), from applying for a job out of the home. Get your resume together and polished up. Be sure to point out your experience and skills that pertain to the type of job you are seeking. - 2
Equipment
Most home jobs require a internet connection and a home computer with up to date virus protection. Some jobs may also require a separate home phone line if you will be doing phone work such as customer service, sales, or telemarketing. If you don't already have a plain phone line, be prepared to get one or decide if that is something you are willing to get. - 3
Network
Start networking with other work at home moms via forums and message boards. Browse the forums and don't be afraid to ask for help and advice. Some great forums to start at are wahm.com and workplacelikehome.com You will be able to find many by doing an online search as well. - 4
Register, upload your resume, and create a profile at job search websites. For example, CareerBuilder and Monster, you will be notified when a company requests an interview or a job that matches your credentials is found. I actually found my work at home job through CareerBuilder. - 5
Flexibility
You can also freelance by posting your skills and hourly or per piece rate on sites like iFreelance, Elance, etc. This isn't constant, steady work, however, it is something that is completely flexible and you can choose which projects to accept.
