How to Use Neopets Emoticons
- 1). Make smiley face emoticons by clicking the icon of the smiley face you want to insert into your message. There is no need to type out the traditional smiley face code, since Neopets provides buttons to generate the codes for this type of emoticon.
- 2). Type emoticons resembling Neopets characters by typing the name of the pet in all lowercase letters and placing an asterisk before and after it. For example, if you want to make a Chia emoticon, you should type the following: *chia*. To make a Kacheek emoticon, you would type *kacheek*.
- 3). Use Halloween emoticons by typing one of the following three words (in lowercase letters), and then enclosing it in asterisks: witch, ghost, pumpkin. For example, if you want to put a pumpkin-shaped emoticon on the Neopets message boards, you would type *pumpkin*.
Halloween-themed Neopets emoticons work year-round. - 4). Make winter holiday-themed emoticons year-round by typing one of the following words in lower-case letters and enclosing it with asterisks: bauble, xmastreee, santa, rednose, snowflake, present, holly, snowman, mistletoe. For example, if you wanted to make a Christmas tree emoticon, you would type *xmastree*.
You can only use one word at a time between the asterisks, so if you wanted to make a holly and a Santa hat emoticon, you would type *holly**santa*. - 5). Look through a Neopets guide such as Pink Poogle Toy or Neo News Now (see References below) to get a list of Neopets emoticons. These sites also give instructions on how to correctly enter the emoticons into your Neomail messages and on the Neopets message boards.
