How to Bead With Swarovski Crystals

    • 1). Choose Swarovski crystals and any accompanying beads you want to work with. Seed beads come in many colors and can be used to complement Swarovski crystals.

    • 2). Create an original design or find a necklace or bracelet pattern in a beading book or website. Lay the beads out in your chosen pattern.

    • 3). Cut a length of .014-inch beading cable with scissors or a wire cutter. The length will depend on your design. Leave enough excess cable on either end of the design to attach the clasp.

    • 4). Apply tape to one end of the cable to prevent the beads from sliding off while you create your design.

    • 5). Slide your Swarovski crystals and any other beads you're using onto the cable according to your pattern.

    • 6). Slide a crimp tube onto the cable at the end of your design. Next, slide on a cable guard and a clasp. Use either a round spring ring clasp or a lobster clasp. Place the clasp over the cable guard.

    • 7). Thread the cable back through the crimp tube. This creates a loop out of the cable guard. Run the cable through the last bead then squeeze the crimp tube flat with the pliers to secure the cable in place.

    • 8). Trim any excess cable with scissors or a wire cutter. The end of the cable should stay tucked and hidden under the last bead.

    • 9). Move to the taped end of the cable and remove the tape. Slide a crimp tube on the end, then slide on a cable guard and either a piece of decorative chain or the clasp ring that came with your clasp.

Loop the cable back through the last bead as you did on the opposite end and crimp the crimp tube closed with the pliers. Trim the excess cable with wire cutters or scissors and connect the clasp to the ring or chain to close your new Swarovski necklace or bracelet.
