Disciple Joins With S/R/E Recordings To Release Debut Album
The debut self-titled project from Disciple is scheduled to hit stores on June 7th. This rock-n-roll band, comprised of four Tennessee natives, fuses together heavy guitar riffs and lyrically strong choruses forming a message for today?s young generation.
Produced by Travis Wyrick (POD, Pillar), the album features 14 original songs written by the band.
Disciple opens strong with the first radio single, ?The Wait Is Over,? which is about the youth of today. Lead vocalist and founder Kevin Young describes the vision behind this track, ?Sometimes it seems like this generation feels hopeless with nothing to look forward to,? Young says. ?I believe this is the moment we have waited for all of our lives; to see God pour out His spirit on all of us.? ?The Wait Is Over? started getting radio airplay on March 18. "I've been a fan of Disciple's live show for a while, but their CDs never captured that live energy.....until now. The Wait is Over!" - Scott Herrold, KCXR, The Kross
The stand-out track, ?Rise Up? is an anthem taking its theme from the story of David and Goliath found in 1 Samuel 17. The chorus calls for people to rise up and exemplify God?s faithfulness to the world, exclaiming, ?I will not sit silently by as you mock and curse my God / Stand against Him you will be brought down.?
Closing the disc is the poignant song ?Tribute? that was written to honor American troops serving our country. Young explains, ?We really wanted to honor the American soldiers who have fought recently and to those who have given their lives for our country, from the bottom of our hearts we say thank you.?
This album follows the band?s previous success with six No. 1 rock hits, four Dove nominations, and their independent project Back Again (2003), which sold more than 35,000 copies. In the February 2005 issue of CCM Magazine Reader?s Poll, Disciple was runner-up in the ?Favorite Indie Artist? category. Disciple is composed of Kevin Young (Lead Vocals), Brad Noah (Guitars), Tim Barrett (Drums), and Joey Fife (Bass).
Industry veteran Steve Ford heads S/R/E Recordings as Vice President/ General Manager with Nate Yetton as marketing manager. Disciple will be distributed both in the mainstream and CBA markets by S/R/E, partnering with Epic Records.
