How to Switch the Position of Window Tabs in a Tool Bar

    • 1). Open the Windows Internet Explorer 8 Web browser on your computer.

    • 2). Click the "New Tab" button on the tab row or press the "CTRL" and "T" buttons on your keyboard at the same time to open a name tab.

    • 3). Open as many tabs as you want for various websites. You can also right-click on any link and then click the "Open in New Tab" option to open the link a new tab.

    • 4). Click on a tab you want to move and hold down your mouse button. Drag the tab to the left or the right of any of the other tabs you have open to change the position of the tabs.

    • 5). Click the "Close Tab" button on any tab to close out of the tab, which may also change the positioning of the tabs.
