    • 1). Insert the USB flash drive into one of your computer's available USB ports. Desktop computers tend to have USB ports on the front bezel or on the back of the case near where the mouse and keyboard plug in. Laptop USB ports are usually on the sides or back.

    • 2). Wait for the computer to recognize the flash drive. When the system recognizes the flash drive, you will generally hear a two-toned beep. If this is the first time you've used the flash drive, the computer may need to install software or drivers specific to your flash drive. This process is automatic. A notice will pop up near the right lower corner of your screen when the drive is ready for use.

    • 3). Access the flash drive from your computer by clicking the "Start" menu, choosing "Computer" and double-clicking the drive letter corresponding to your flash drive.

    • 4). Select the photos you want to copy from the flash drive with your mouse, then type "Ctrl" + "C" to copy them. Alternately, type "Ctrl" + "X" to copy the pictures and remove them from your flash drive once the copy procedure completes.

    • 5). Navigate to the Pictures folder in your User Profile, or any other folder you wish to copy the files to, then type "Ctrl" + "V" to paste the pictures into the folder you've chosen. The images will now be on your computer's hard drive.
