Indy, In-House Fighting andBritish Domination - All Set For Sunday Then?
Hamilton has refuted Alonso's claims that the McLaren team are bisaed towards their fellow Brit in the team pecking order by telling a news conference, "I find it strange he said that because I feel that ever since he joined [McLaren], the team have been extremely motivated to push us both toward winning.
"Ron and the other guys on the team have been working very hard to make sure we have equal opportunity.
"It's probably always going to be difficult in a business, but obviously I've got a great relationship with all the guys in the team because I've been with them since I was 13.
"At the end of the day when Fernando came into the team, they were extremely excited and I feel built a very good relationship with him.
"So I don't see why he would say that.
"But I guess because he is Spanish and I am English, he might feel that way, but I don't agree with it personally.
" So much for the British stiff upper lip and diplomacy then! I guess though that when you are as driven and determined as these guys are that a simple phrase such as "No I in Team" wouldn't get in the way of their winning ways.
I'm sure things are a lot rosier at Team McClaren than they really appear though and as they are leading both the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships you could understand why.
Which brings us on to Sunday's US GP at Indianapolis.
Lewis heads there as the Championship Leader and the winner of the last race and to be honest, you have to fancy him for each and every race he takes part in - Indianapolis being no different.
It's Alonso's least favourite circuit and with BMW a closer threat to McLaren than Ferrari the omens look good for the young Brit.
At a slight tangent, if Andy Murray can get himself fit enough for Wimboldon and put up a decent challenge, the English cricket team whooping the West Indies and Lewis Hamilton carrying on with this form it may just be an excellent summer for British sport enthusiasts like myself.
Now if only the weather can improve.
