How to Remove the Battery From the Motherboard of a Toshiba Satellite M45
- 1). Turn off your M45, remove the power cable and close the display screen.
- 2). Turn the computer upside down and slide the rectangular battery out of its compartment.
- 3). Remove all screws from the bottom of the laptop.
- 4). Turn the laptop right side up and open the display screen.
- 5). Insert the tip of your screwdriver underneath the plastic panel that sits above the keyboard and pop it off. Two screws will be exposed above the keyboard.
- 6). Remove the two screws above the keyboard.
- 7). Lift the keyboard up and unplug the ribbon cable that connects to the back of it. Remove the keyboard and set it aside.
- 8). Remove all screws on the metal cover on top of the computer. Remove the cover to expose the motherboard and internal components of the computer. The CMOS battery is located in a small compartment at the top of the motherboard.
- 9). Remove the battery from its compartment. You may replace it with a new one and reverse the steps for reassembly.
