    • 1). Call the Clark County Clerks Office in Vancouver. The main phone line is (360) 397-2292. The clerk of court is responsible for keeping all the records of the court. This would include restraining orders which are civil cases. Tell the clerk you would like to check to see if there is a restraining order in effect. Give her your name, the other party's name and a case number if possible.

    • 2). Visit the Clark County Clerk's Office at 1200 Franklin Street, Vancouver, WA 98660. Many county courts have public computers available for people to search the court docket. Ask the clerk if the court has such a computer available. If it does, request that she help you access the docket so you can search your name. You can also call the number provided above to find out if they have a public computer you may use.

    • 3). Conduct a name search. You can use your name or the name of the other party on the restraining order. The docket will pull up any case that you or the other person has been involved in. Find the case regarding the restraining order. The docket will tell you if the restraining order has been dissolved, if it has been renewed, or how long it will remain in effect.
