How to Configure a Printer in Linux

    • 1). Connect the printer to your Linux-based computer with the USB cable provided in the packaging. Plug in the power adapter of the printer into a power source and push the power button to turn it on.

    • 2). Click "Main Menu" on your Linux operating system and choose "System Settings." Click the option that says "Printing."

    • 3). Click "New." Type a name for the printer under "Name and Aliases."

    • 4). Click the "Queue Type" tab. Check the "Attached Printer" check box.

    • 5). Click the "Driver." tab. Check the check box next to the attached printer icon. Doing so will start installing the required device drivers for the printer.

    • 6). Click "OK."

    • 7). Click the button labeled "Print Test Page." This will print a test page. At this point, your printer is configured to your computer.
