    • 1). Power down your iBook. Remove peripheral cables from computer and power adapter. Flip the computer over and place it on a soft cloth or towel. Turn the computer over and remove the battery by turning the slotted screw toward the unlocked icon.

    • 2). Turn your iBook back on to the upright position. Locate the keyboard lock between the "F5" and "Num Lock" keys. Turn the small screw counterclockwise to open. Locate the two plastic tabs in the upper portion of the keyboard. Slide the tabs toward you and lift the keyboard up. Flip the keyboard over and toward you. Lay it on the palm rest.

    • 3). Touch any piece of metal surface within the computer to discharge static electricity.

    • 4). If your iBook has an AirPort adapter, remove the metal clip and release the old AirPort Card from its adapter.

    • 5). Locate the wire bracket mechanism and pull it up. Locate the wire antenna and attach it securely to the AirPort Card. Place the AirPort Card so that the ID number faces up. Guide it under the wire bracket, and into the slot. Ensure that it fits snugly. Snap down the wire bracket to hold the card securely in place.

    • 6). Pick up the loosened keyboard, turn it over and place it back into position. Guide it down under the plastic tabs. Flip over the iBook and reinstall the battery. Secure the battery by turning the slotted screw toward the padlock icon with a coin.
