Do you desire to work out of your home and be your own boss? I think if most people were asked that question, they would say yes.
And why not? Freedom, no commute, be around your family, and the myriad of other reasons people would like to own their own business out of their home.
The biggest obstacle to doing this is you.
As someone who has been a self employed Contractor for over half my adult life, (I'm 52), I can tell you with all certainty, it's much harder to be your own boss than going to work for someone.
With that being said, I'd never go to work for someone again unless I absolutely have too! By the Grace of God, that hasn't happened in over 25 years! I'm not discouraging anyone from going into their own business, I'm just saying that no matter what you read or hear, it takes allot of work and much more discipline and organization than going to work for someone everyday.
Once you do take that step, put your blood.
sweat and tears into it for a few years.
you soon realize that it was the best decision you'll ever make and you'll never go to work for anyone again! You see, I've found in all the years I've been self employed, that I'm far more secure in my position than those that go to work for someone every day.
So many people get laid off from their jobs at a moments notice, companies close or go bankrupt, and so many other reasons.
Then, they are unemployed, looking for work and not knowing where to turn because they have depended on that job their whole life to that point.
It's a position I haven't been in.
I'm not saying I haven't had tough times and no work, in 2009 I almost went out of business, but my faith in Christ, allot of praying, my reputation and skill, and being in tough times before in my business, gave me the stamina and will to keep plodding along, knowing things would get better, and by the Lord's will they did! I'm not rich by any means, my wife does work for someone and her income does get us through allot of tough times, although she would like to quit her job and I'm all for her getting another business going out of our home.
She's not he risk taker I am! In closing, I say again, if you want to own a home based business, go for it.
I just wanted to tell you my story and show you with hard work, determination, discipline and a strong desire to succeed, you'll find that it will be the most rewarding thing you'll ever do and when things get tough, as they will from time to time, you'll have a whole new perspective and will be able to overcome anything that comes your way! Also, my faith as a born again believer in Jesus Christ and a solid marriage and loving wife who stands behind me helps immensely!
