Having your office in your home is great and more people start home based companies every day.
It has many benefits, ranging from the purely financial to the less tangible ones - like the freedom and creativity it bring.
But one of the primary reasons that working from home is beneficial to your economy is that it cuts spending.
Instead of taking your car, the bus or the subway to work everyday, your commute is now the distance between your bed and your computer.
Way to save up gas and mileage on your car! So already when it comes to transport did you save money.
But there are other areas that you will find economical when working from home as well.
For example, you can stop racking up heavy bills from your local restaurants.
Now that you are based at home, just feet away from your kitchen - what can stop you from making your own food everyday.
Eating out for lunch is one of the biggest money drains for the private economy, so a little creativity in the kitchen could take you a long way.
But bear in mind that there are economical downsides as well.
For example, you are now in charge of your own gear and technical equipment - like your computer.
Buying a new computer is a big expense, so what would happen if the computer you were using for your business would stop working.
Or if you had to get new expensive software? These are areas your employer would help you out with otherwise, that you know are responsible for yourself.
And keep the insurances in mind, as you are your own employer!
