How to Reset Your eMachines Computer
- 1). Back up all files you wish to save, including videos, music, pictures and documents. This information will be lost when the machine is reloaded.
- 2). Insert the Windows disc that came with your computer, then restart the machine.
- 3). Press any key to load from the CD when you are presented with the prompt to do so. If you do not receive this prompt, go to Step 4; otherwise, go to Step 5.
- 4). If you are not presented with the option to load from the CD, restart your computer and load the boot menu. This can usually be accomplished by pressing F10 on the splash screen (the first screen you see with the large "E" on it). Choose the "Boot from CD" option.
- 5). Be aware that Windows will take inventory of your drives before you can do anything. You will eventually see a list of all the partitions on your drive, which you should delete. Do this by pressing "D" to delete, then "L" to confirm.
- 6). Choose "Unpartitioned Space" and press "Enter."
- 7). Select the option to format using the NTFS file system and press "Enter." Windows will now begin to install. This may take some time. Do not turn off the computer or press any key during this process.
- 8). Be prepared for your computer to restart at the end of the installation. You will be eventually be prompted for your product key. It can be found on the case of your machine. Enter it, being sure to get the key exactly right. Click "Next."

Name any accounts that will be using this computer and click "Next." - 11
If you are prompted for Network Settings options, choose "Typical." - 12
When you are taken to the Desktop, you will probably be asked to activate your copy of Windows; do so using the onscreen instructions. - 13
Finally, remove the Windows disc and insert the Drivers disc that came with your computer. Follow the instructions to complete the reloading process.
