The Island of Oahu

• The Ala Moana on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu celebrated its fortieth year in 2010 with extensive upgrades and renovations. The front lobby is a study in contemporary simplicity, with minimalist furniture and an airy atmosphere. The hotels has two towers, the Kona and Waikiki, and each offers guests several types of rooms, including ocean view, mountain view, one bedroom suites and junior deluxe. Amenities for the hotel include fitness center and spa, hair salon, swimming pool and gift shop. Directly adjacent to the hotel is a large shopping center which boasts 290 retail shops and restaurants. The Island of Maui

• The Aston Maui Lu Hotel in Kihei, Maui, is a secluded resort situated on 28 acres of a historic coconut grove. The hotel's lobby features 24-hour front desk services, wireless Internet in public areas, and a safe deposit box. Rooms are air-conditioned with queen sized beds. If you are traveling with a baby, the hotel also provides infant beds and cribs. The Island of Lanai

• For a truly authentic and remote experience stay on the Island of Lanai. Ninety-eight percent of the island is privately-owned, making it one of the least populous islands in the state. The Hotel Lanai in Lanai City was built in 1923 to provide lodging for visiting Dole Plantation executives and was the only hotel on the island until 1990. The plantation-style hotel has a nostalgic air throughout, and its decor and furnishings reflect an earlier time. Room amenities for the establishment are simple: maid service, hair dryer, alarm clock, mini-refrigerator and ceiling fans. The outdoor activities, however, are plentiful, and are part of what makes Lanai the perfect outdoor vacation spot.
