ExpressCard Sizes

• ExpressCard slots come in two sizes: 34 millimeters and 54 millimeters. Devices and expansion modules designed for 34-millimeter slots will also fit in 54 millimeter slots, but devices designed for the larger slots will not fit in the smaller.
  
  

In Gateway Laptops

• As of December 2010, the only Gateway notebook or netbook computer to include an ExpressCard expansion slot is the P-7815u FX edition notebook. An ExpressCard reader is not included and must be purchased separately.
  
  

Types of Readers

• ExpressCard readers are available that can read compact flash memory cards, secure digital (SD) cards and even universal serial bus (USB) drives. Combination or "all-in-one" readers are also available that can read multiple card formats.
