How to Share Printers in XP
- 1). Make sure the USB printer is powered on and connected to the host PC computer using a standard USB cable.
- 2). Open the "Start" menu on the host computer and click on the "Printers and Faxes" icon.
- 3). Right-click on the icon of the USB printer and choose the "Sharing" option from the contextual menu.
- 4). Select the radio button next to "Share this printer."
- 5). Enter a name for the printer in the "Share name" field. Other users on the network will use this share name to locate the printer.
- 6). Check the box next to "List in directory."
- 7). Hit the "OK" button to save the settings and begin sharing the USB printer. Other computers on the local network will now be able to send documents to the shared printer.
