    Metal Plate

    • The scented oil candles have an aluminum wick clip attached to one end of the wick. This wick clip is attached to a metal warming plate below. The plate and clip are hidden in the solidified oil wax. Upon lighting the wick, the metal clip and plate heat up to melt the oil. This in turn releases the aroma of the oil and disperses it around the room. The regular Glade candles have the wick clip but do not contain the warming plate.

    Composition

    • The wicks used for the regular and scented oil candles are made with a specially designed wick made of cotton. This wick is attached to the aluminum wick clip at one end.

    Burning Time

    • The scented oil candles have a wick with a burning time of 2 to 3 hours. Regular Glade candles have a burn time of 2 to 4 hours.

    Trimming

    • There is no need to trim the wick on the scented oil candles. Regular Glade candles should be trimmed to ¼ inch prior to each use. Any old wick debris should be removed as well.

    Replacement

    • You can replace the scented oil wax with a replacement refill. You never want to alter or replace just the wick. For the regular blended or jar candles, you want to discontinue use when the remaining wax is ¼ inch thick. There are no refills for this kind of candle.

    Extinguish

    • Extinguish a lit Glade candle wick by blowing on it. Do not use water or the lid to put the flame out.
