How to Buff Out Scratches on a Stainless Steel Refrigerator
- 1). Buy wet/dry silicon sandpaper at your local hardware store. The grade should begin at 120 (up to 400). You will have to experiment to get the right grade for your refrigerator.
- 2). In a spot that is not conspicuous, perform a test with the lowest grade sandpaper to see if it is right for your refrigerator. Make sure and wet the sandpaper with water. Continue testing until you find the right grade --- one that's not too coarse for your refrigerator.
- 3). Sand the scratches on the refrigerator door with the wet/dry sandpaper. Be sure to wet the sandpaper first. The sandpaper should not discolor the stainless steel. However, if it does leave discoloration, gently sand the entire surface of the refrigerator.
