How to Clean & Repair Stains on Granite
- 1). Dampen a soft cloth with distilled water. Wipe the stain with the cloth. Make sure the stain is completely saturated with the distilled water.
- 2). Mix together 2 tbsp. of hydrogen peroxide and 1 cup of all-purpose flour.
- 3). Add a few drops of water at a time until you achieve a thick paste. The paste should have a consistency that resembles peanut butter.
- 4). Spread the paste over the stain using a plastic spatula. Make sure the paste covers the entire stain and overlaps it by a few inches.
- 5). Place a piece of plastic wrap over the paste. Secure the edges down with tape. Poke a few holes into the plastic wrap using a knife. Make sure not to damage the granite when making the holes.
- 6). Allow the paste to harden for 24 hours. Make sure the paste has completely hardened before removing the plastic and continuing.
- 7). Saturate a sponge in distilled water. Remove the paste from the granite with the sponge.
- 8). Buff the granite with a lint-free towel until it is dry. Repeat the process until the stain is no longer visible.
