How to Make a Chrome Toolbox Shine After Acetone Was on It
- 1). Wipe the surface of the toolbox clean with a damp rag. This will help to neutralize the acid and remove any dirt left on the toolbox that could scratch the chrome when you polish it.
- 2). Pat the surface with a dry towel to remove the water. Pat the surface as opposed to rubbing it. This will avoid micro scratches in the chrome surface.
- 3). Apply a chrome polish to the surface of the toolbox. Buff the box with a microfiber cloth in a circular motion. Add more wax if needed until you buff the entire box. When completed, wait until the wax turns to a dry white film. You can get chrome polish at most automotive or motorcycle supply stores.
- 4). Buff the film off the box with a clean microfiber cloth.
