- 1). Remove any clothing from inside the washing machine.
- 2). Set the washing machine to the heavy-duty cycle, and adjust the water temperature control to the hottest setting.
- 3). Fill the washing machine with hot water.
- 4). Pour 2 to 4 cups of white vinegar, depending on the severity of the stains, into the washer, and close the cover to start the cycle.
- 5). Wipe the inside of the laundry drum with a damp sponge, when the wash cycle has completed. Repeat the vinegar treatment if necessary to remove any remaining hard water stains.
