Daisies belong to the Asteraceae plant family. With their bright colors and simple lines, these beautiful flowers are among the favorite flowering plants in many gardens. While there are many varieties to choose from, Gerbera, Shasta, gloriosa and English daisies are popular choices to plant in your garden. - Gerbera daisies are colorful and very hardy plants. Once established, they will grow in clusters. Each plant can produce a variety of blooms of vibrant colors such as orange, pink, purple, yellow and red. Each bloom can be up to 4 or 5 inches across. making them a popular flower for cutting.
- Shasta daisies are the most common variety of daisy. They are very attractive to birds, bees and butterflies. With their classic white petals and yellow centers, Shasta daisies are ideal for garden planting. The flowers are long lasting and can grow up to 3 feet tall. They will multiply quickly and should be divided every few years
- The gloriosa daisy, with its bright yellow petals and brown center, is a relative of the wildflower black-eyed Susan. Since they bloom in late summer to early fall, they provide beautiful color to your garden at the end of a summer season.
- The English daisy comes in a variety of colors like orange, pink, white and yellow. Because it grows to only 5 inches in height, the English daisy is a popular plant for borders and beds.
