How to Remove Paint From Vandalized Trees

    • 1). Scrape the paint lightly with a wire brush. Remove as much paint as possible without going deeper than the tree's bark.

    • 2). Put 2 inches of dirt in a bucket and add water to create a mud paste. Apply the mud paste liberally over the bark where the paint stains used to be.

    • 3). Let the mud paste dry. Rinse the mud off or let rain wash it away naturally. The mud will stain the bark a natural color and blend in the vandalized part with the rest of the tree. Eventually the paint will completely disappear on its own.
